I’m drawn to creative projects that make useful ideas more approachable, whether that's through children's books from my imprint, Little Ledger Press, focused on helping kids understand money, time, and responsibility, or through Pairing With Pros, a cookbook featuring 50 of my own recipes and beer pairings alongside contributions from industry friends with deep expertise in beer, food, and flavor.
My work in beer is grounded in sensory education, evaluation, and a deep respect for the craft behind every glass. I'm an Advanced Cicerone, National-ranked BJCP judge, and have judged at the World Beer Cup, Great American Beer Festival, National Homebrew Competition, and Craft Beverage Marketing Awards. I also lead hands-on sensory classes that help brewers, hospitality teams, and beer enthusiasts build sharper tasting skills and a stronger understanding of flavor.
Outside of work, I’m happiest when I’m learning, making something, or doing something that turns into a good story later. That usually means cooking, traveling, skating with my kids, rock climbing, or chasing another degree or certification I probably don’t need but absolutely want to earn. I also stay active in the communities that shaped my career through volunteer work with the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Best Florida Beer Championship, and Brewers Association Marketing & PR Subcommittee.
